REPRESENTATION AT THE POLICE STATION AND COURT

Advice, Assistance and Representation at the Police Station – FREE OF CHARGE.

At the most crucial point of an investigation, the interview, it is extremely important that you are represented. With us you will only be represented by a solicitor. That solicitor will have over 20 years experience of representing clients at the police station. we will advise, represent and assist you in person if you are :-

A Arrested and detained at a Police Station after arrest or,

B Attending a police station voluntarily for an interview under caution or,

If you instruct us at the investigation stage :

1 Our representation at the Police Station is free of charge

2 You will always be represented by a Solicitor who will attend in person.

3 If you are under arrest, you will be spoken to on the phone by a Solicitor within 30 minutes of us receiving the call from the police

4 The same solicitor will represent you at each interview

5 After your release, you will be able to discuss your case with that solicitor either by phone or by appointment.

6 We will confirm in writing (i) the case against you, (ii) your instruction, (iii) our advice and (iv) what happens next, within three days.

Representation at the Magistrates’ Court, the Crown Court and Court of Appeal

If you are required to attend Court to face a charge it is vital that you are represented by a solicitor who is able to advise you on the law, procedure and evidence. Each solicitor has over 20 years experience of advising and representing client at Court. We will advise, represent and assist you in person to defend any :

A Prosecution in the Magistrates’ Court or Youth Court by way of a charge or requisition

B Prosecution in the Crown Court

C Prosecution for Breach of a Court Order.

D Appeals against Conviction or Sentence

E Motoring Offences, including Excess Alcohol, Drug Driving, Dangerous Driving and speeding

F Sexual Harm Prevention Orders

G Anti-Social or Criminal Behaviour Orders

H Domestic Violence Prevention Notices

If you instruct us to represent you, we will ensure that :

1 If you wish, you will be represented by the same solicitor who represented you at the Police Station

2 The same solicitor will represent you throughout the proceedings

3 You will be given a copy of the evidence against you and you will be advised both orally and in writing the strength of the evidence against you. That letter will be sent to you within three days of your first Court hearing.

4 You will be offered an appointment within 72 hours of requesting one.

5 If you are eligible for Legal Aid ( a Representation Order ) the costs of your representation will free.

6 If your case is sent to the Crown Court you will be offered an appointment with your Higher Court Advocate no fewer than 7 days before your Crown Court hearing.
